January Monthly Summary

The month of January, for me, as been a month of adjustment.  I am still trying to get adjusted to living up to my academic work demands and deadlines along with my work schedule.  I have to admit, it has been tough because my work schedule interferes a lot with being able to post in the early part of the week.  I am trying to figure out a good system to make it work better but it is still a work in progress.

As far as the course work, I am getting the two courses I am taking confused with each other.  I am taking EDAC 631 and 648 and the material compliments each other  but also makes it difficult to keep the two straight especially since both courses have very similar deadline dates.  But in the same token, that is also kind of nice too.  Trying to blog, which is my first time to do this, has been a challenge.

Our group is having a slow start.  I think our group is still trying to find their grove and not knowing where to start.  I attempted to do create the blog for our group and am hoping that it is correct.  I added the other group members to be contributors in which Erin has accepted.  I have not heard from Christie at this point.  I am also taking EDAC 648 and a member of my group in that class created an assignment task list for everyone to sign up for certain tasks, which I thought was helpful.  I guess I can do something similar for our group to get things rolling since our first group project is due in a couple of weeks. I know that everyone has busy lives and we all work on different deadlines.  I am not wanting to be pushy as I know that because of my work schedule I am often not able to work very much a head of the deadline but I can take the initiative and contact the other group members to get the ball rolling.

  1. I really like the idea of making a task list up front with all assignments so everyone is clear on what is expected of them individually. Especially if you have a larger group or a hard time finding time to communicate. I can definitely see how the courses would mix and become confused. I'm hoping summer classes will be offered and I can take two at once!

    1. We think that this approach of the up front task list will work for our group as we move forward. There is only two in our group but just as everyone else, are very busy and thought that this might help us look ahead instead of working in the current 2 week period for our projects
